I doubt therapy for emotions related to stuttering would help my particular condition (I’ve grown accustomed to living the “mute life”, as it were). I genuinely think there’s a huge neurological component to my stuttering (happens every day in all situations), which is why speech therapy isn’t effective for me personally. For other people whose stuttering is arguably caused by emotional trauma, however, psychotherapy to target emotional issues may work wonders. I think it all just comes down to the specific etiology of an individual’s stuttering disorder.
