A thought for anyone who is the only one: I didn't know until I was over 18yo that one of my older male relatives stuttered. He was a child in the 30s-40s. Wanna know why I had no idea? He barely speaks. He barely speaks because his mother would physically hit him with anything she had nearby if he stuttered in her presence. He learned to not talk and not tell anyone. Someone else older than him had to tell me!
