I think what you heard is correct, in that it is very common and quite possible nothing to worry about. But I would say that getting her evaluated will be great, anyways. Maybe it would just go away on it's own, but there's certainly no harm in learning new tools in case it doesn't. Even if it does, being a better speaker is never a bad thing! As far as it coming out during an evaluation, I had the same concern with myself for the first time I saw a therapist. Often times when meeting new people I speak quite well. It's when I sort of relax a bit and words start just falling out is when I start to have problems. But it did come out. They had me do a variety of exercises, some I was able to do with no issues, but it did come out during others. So I would advise not to worry about that. Even if it doesn't come out, I'm guessing the pathologists will spot some room for improvements in things like pronunciation, rate of speech, etc.
