Thanks for sharing! It's good to get different opinions and attitudes about stuttering -- it feels like such an individualized issue, we all have our own story. I have done or do some of the tips/tricks you outline in the post. Sometimes you enter survival mode at work or in real life. Similar to you, I have a ton of public speaking and interacting I have to do at work, so stuff I've learned at speech therapy can often be thrown to the way side in the heat of the moment. Sometimes the tips/tricks/avoidances can build up, and make me feel like I'm in a hole or the "stuttering" walls are closing in on me. I've heard avoidances called as weeds, that sometimes you gotta weed your lawn, if you know what I mean! I'm at an age where I enjoy saying what I want to say, and not worrying as much as I did previously about my stutter. From personal experience, people rarely react to my stutter the way I think they would in my head (although that can happen sometimes). Good luck with your journey!
