Retail with a stutter SUCKS. I always have a hard time with H and W so greeting customers is a hit or miss for me (I would always try). It’s not only that it just sucks but you feel like you’re not perceived as friendly because “thank you have a nice day” doesn’t fully get out until they’re out the door. As much as I wanna say just brush it off, there are days that that feels impossible. My FAVORITE horrible customer experience was some guy just kept commenting on my stutter and (of course) started mocking it thinking it was funny. I came up with a story about me being in a car accident and my head going through the windshield and that’s why I stutter (which is absolutely not true). The DEAD silence afterwards was sooo funny. He never came back in when I was working. The other customers asked me if I was okay afterwards. Sometimes messing with the rude ones makes your day a little brighter.
