Thanks. Yeah, it does feel horrible to open my mouth to talk, expecting things to come out normal (ie:forgetting I now stutter) and then be unable to produce a fluent sentence. Yet, I ask myself whether it wouldn’t have been worse to never have been fluent. As I reflect on it, I feel it might have been particularly painful growing up with the pressure that’s put on kids/teens to fit in. I can’t possibly answer whether one or the other is harder. All I can say is that this stuttering thing is damn hard for me to adjust to and that I appreciate the support of others here, whether they’re early o set or late onset stutterers.
