Simple observation why I block so bad on stutter and why most likely you do as well How many of yall also feel like your stomach muscles are frozen in place when you're on a hard block?!! Like i mean, when im stuck on that agonizing block and no sound is coming out I also noticed that my stomach simply doesn't exhale any sound either like i subconsciously inhale pumping out my stomach just to overcome that block and i feel thats exactly what forces me to instead use my chest and throat muscles to overcome the block!! I only noticed it well for one i noticed it on the stuttering discord where i was actively trying to be more fully aware of my speech physically and I also feel i noticed it more cuz for about 3 weeks or more I've been doing alot of diaphragmatic breathing exercises thus making me more conscious using my belly breath to speak. This is funny cuz wayyyy way back in my early 20s when my stutter was severe and my anxiety was unbearable i had a conversation with a random group of kids that came up to me when i was pushing shopping carts outside( i was working at a shopping center) and so naturally when i engaged in the conversation i started stuttering bad and one of them quoted this " dude stop holding your breathe when you're talking thats why you're stuttering" he then looked at his friends and said " he's holding his breathe guys". At the time i had no idea what he meant by that i was just severely embarrassed tbh lol. The more i think about it the more sense that guy made, idk guys i starting to think maybe cuz our anxiety where subconsciously holding our breath 🤔 what do you'll think
