I highly recommend going to a speech therapist! 24 year old guy here, and I have been going on and off since i was a kid. Personally, the biggest progress hasn’t been in achieving fluency. I have learned some techniques to speak more fluently, but still have a noticeable stutter. However, going to a speech therapist has helped me change my view of my stutter, towards a more accepting one. Nowadays, when i stutter, it is not the end of the world. Fluency is not everything, learning to live with your stutter and not have it control every conscious decision through anxiety is more important. At least for me personally.
