We don't know enough about stutter yet to say things for certain with regards to heritability. As an anecdotal counter to your anecdote, absolutely nobody on my father's side stutters. However, my mom did a bit when she was young. But that's it. Nobody else. So, don't go reading too much into how things seem to relate. It might not mean what you think it does. :)
