Once I got to middle school, I would decline to read or speak in front of the class. I told the counselor that doing so was an embarrassing situation. If you can't get excused from speaking in front of the class, lean into the stutter. If you have a 5 minute speech, you should be able to fill it with 30 seconds of content. Believe it or not, the laughter and sniggering stops at a certain point, and everyone else becomes uncomfortable. At this point, insist on finishing what you are saying. I assure you, that will be the last time you are required to speak in front of that class. You may even find that some students learn a bit of empathy. That being said, seek professional speech therapy. If you put in the work, you *can be fluent.*
