because you have not come to grips with the fact that everyone has problems and this is yours. if they are deeply religious then they probably have a "This is how God made me and that is the end of that" attitude. It is no different than having any other disability (hell, its not as bad as most of them); you can either let it consume you or you can accept things are the way they are and work with/around it.
