Yeah, you would really need an SLP specialist to assess. A regular doctor is going to have no clue if it's fake or not. As an SLP who's had a few cases of people trying to falsely claim they have a speech impediment (for workers' comp or disability, etc.), it's extremely obvious to us. It's kind of entertaining and fascinating how much work people put into trying to create a speech disorder and how ineffective they are.
