Remind him that just because he has a stutter, it doesn’t mean he is not smart, loved, or worthy of being successful. When I was 12 my counselor literally told me I wouldn’t be successful in middle and high school if I didn’t get through my stutter. I’m a 2020 high school graduate and I left HS as Vice President of my student body with a 4.2GPA, and friends who have embraced my “flaw” and love me for me. If I listened to her, I would’ve not pushed myself to break past the barrier. It’s a mindset. If you use a stutter as an excuse to hold you back in life, it will. Encourage strength through the negative comments.
