I agree, it simply sucks. It's in the nature of stuttering to ebb and flow and we can't always put the finger on why. The more you struggle, the worse it gets, like a noose that gets tighter and tighter. But there are actually two effective ways to control stuttering 1. learn a fluency technique and practice it until it becomes second nature so you can use it whenever, wherever 2. Work on your thoughts and beliefs around stuttering, identify inhelpful thought patterns and replace them with affirmative, positive thoughts. Thoughts lead to emotions which lead to actions. It's really hard doing this work on your own so I would strongly recommend finding a really experienced Speech and Language Pathologist. With the help of a therapist, you can make stuttering your problem no 17 in life, not problem no 1. Good luck!
