I've stuttered my entire life, almost 30 years. I can't say my own name fluently and I can't get through most sentences without stuttering. It makes it hard to talk to people and make new friends, but it doesn't prevent you from performing academically or staying in shape and it doesn't make you an alcoholic. Those are all things that happen just as easily to people who can speak completely fluently. Not achieving your childhood dreams? That's part of being a person. Very few people ever become as successful as they thought they would when they were young. Again, nothing to do with stuttering, that's just a part of growing up.
