You need to have the sit down talk with her. People that don’t stutter, don’t understand. How can they? Tell her how she can help you. Find ways of helping yourself if you want to gain fluency. I can give you a few. I stuttered until I was 57 years old and now at 60 I’m still fluent. If you can read aloud without stuttering, read from a book or anything out loud at least an hour a day. When you speak, speak no more than 5 words at a time and pause. Speak softly and slowly.
