This is actually a very interesting question, and I am not sure I can give a definite answer one way or the other. In some ways, I do honestly believe my stutter has had some benefit on who I am. For example: 1. I believe it has made me a kinder person, and I am more likely to look past someone’s minor flaws in order to better get to know that person. 2. I believe it has made me stronger and more independent. On the other hand, if I had the opportunity to get rid of my stutter I would take it in a heartbeat (obviously). So I cannot really say that I am “proud” of it. More like I’ve “accepted” it.
