Unfortunately, as a girl, I feel like the reason this is (and why I love seeing female stutterers, not just male stutterers, as role models) because if you look at an average elementary and middle school, the boys are generally (not always) making friends by playing sports and what not, not much talking. Girls are generally (not always) talking and chit chatting. On a random note, this is also why (I think) girls are diagnosed with autism so late in life. It is kind of annoying that this is generally the case so I wished I had looked around to the girls (or guys) who didn't want to just sit around talking all day.
