Due to covid we have many oral exams at my university. There are many students that skip those classes becauset they don't like public speaking. After a conversation with some friends who also don't like oral exams their arguments were: - I don't want to do something stupid in front of the whole class on zoom -I will block (forget what to say, fell embarrassed etc) because the professor doesn't give me time and he makes the questions very fast - I feel really anxious Then I asked them how I should feel about all of these because I have a stutter and It's more difficult for me to express my self. Then one of my friends told me : You are a fighter, you have been dealing with this almost all your life and I see that you can manage your anxiety about public speaking instead of us that take speaking for granted. Also if I need some advice about it you are the only person I am going ask for. So all of these made me realize two things 1 We confuse stuttering with anxiety about public speaking and we believe that all people can speak any time without be aware about their speech. 2 We are fighters! We forget that we are dealing daily with something that others take it for granted and we don't give ourselves some credit about pushing our selves out of our comfort zone. So many people have anxiety about Public speaking and if they are open about it share your thoughts and give them some advice.
