This is the way. The more you do it, the less you will care. There will still be moments of abject cringe that shakes your entire soul, but it's still well worth it. I never realized until this post just how much stuff like Door Dash can prevent young stutterers from having to overcome their fears. It's worth it! I've said this a bunch here on this sub, but the single most effective thing I was ever instructed to do in speech therapy was to go around and stutter on purpose! Eg: going into shops and asking a question. It really makes you feel like you can control in a weird way.
