‘think before you speak’ ever experienced other’s telling you this in order to stop you from stuttering? my mum always does that to me. she knows that i stutter, but she always tells me that if i think before i speak, i will not stutter. but that is NOT THE CASE. In fact i believe that I overthink sometimes what i have to say, and this only makes the stuttering worse. she thinks that my stuttering is due to my lack of confidence and uncertainty when speaking, but when i really want to express my ideas, my brain and throat stops me from delivering what i have to say (blocks). this pisses me of the most, even more than people laughing at me 🤬 anyone have had something similar?
