> Is there a point where it is too long and I should acknowledge or should I just always wait? He seemed more social after the interaction This is actually a really good question that gets to the heart of stuttering - I'm a lifelong stutterer and it's definitely shaped the way I perceive stuttering. I've had some very long blocks. No, you don't need to just wait. Your time is valuable and presumably so is his. He can't just keep you effectively hostage by blocking, and after some amount of time it becomes a necessity to help him finish the word! If you'd like to hear from him feel free to address the stutter in a respectful way - he's heard it before. Openness, in general, will lead to less stuttering. I'll sometimes feel like there's a weight off my shoulders after I've had a really bad stutter because I figure there's absolutely no more pressure.
