I don’t have any academic sources for this but anecdotally mine is much worse in Spanish than in my native English. I think it’s just because those neural pathways aren’t as well-grown/defined, so the issues that cause it in your native language are made worse. I don’t know how good your English skills are (though they seem pretty good based on this post), but it may just take time.
