First year college student with a stutter

First year college student with a stutter I'm a first year college student and I mostly stutter when talking to people who work at the college. I often try to talk with fluency but if I stutter I stop myself and say "sorry I have a stutter." I don't know if I need to explain myself or if people should just be patient
