For people like us, sales might be a difficult job. Telemarketing would be a terrible job. But there are dozens and dozens of well paying jobs that are good fits. This affliction is not a death knell to you being successful at work. You can either explain to your family that these speech-forward jobs are not the right fit for you, and see if they have connections to jobs that more suit you. Or just find the right fit yourself. But there's no reason to be pessimistic. We were dealt a bad hand, but so many people have overcome worse to be very successful. You'll be great.
