why does my stutter instantly get 10x worse when talking to a retail or food service worker?

why does my stutter instantly get 10x worse when talking to a retail or food service worker? its barely an issue in my normal life, but the moment i talk to a retail or food service employee im getting stuck on one syllable for half a minute or more
