Sharing Our Victories Hi y’all! I don’t post much on Reddit in general but recently I had a big victory and I wanted to share with y’all, who would understand how big it is. I’ve had a moderate/severe stutter (multiple seconds long full blocks almost every sentence, especially in front of crowds) for as long as I’ve been able to speak, but recently I presented my research for the first time at a national academic conference! I led a 2 hour workshop (with about 30 attendees), stuttering the whole way through, and people listened because they wanted to know what I had to say. I’m really proud of myself. We all know the anxiety, stress, and shame we deal with every day, and it can be overwhelming (I know it is for me). I think it’s important to be proud of all our victories, big or small, rare or common. So I thought it might be fun for us to share things we’ve done in spite of our stutter that we’re proud of. Please share down below! Please let me know if posts like this are discouraged as I’m new here. I’m just excited to hear about/learn from what you all have done. Cheers!
