Yes, I had zero awareness during blocks UNTIL one day I somehow managed to know what was happening and then I snapped out of it. At the gym, a guy asked me how many sets I had left, and **I felt a speech block coming on.** My throat automatically closed up out of fear, something I didn’t consciously control. In that split second, I realized my blocking was triggered by anxiety and my vocal cords automatically closed by themselves. To counter it, I quickly inhaled through my mouth to open my vocal cords, and I spoke fluently without any blocks. It was at that moment I had an epiphany, and I caught myself in the middle of a block and finally realized what was going on with me and why it was happening.
