Mindset Can Be a Game Changer Stuttering is a tricky one and I’ve had it since birth. Most of the time it gets better as you get older, but to give some advice, mindset can defiantly be a game changer. You need to embrace your stutter even and not fear it. Most of the time, it’s you that holds you back from doing something, not your stutter. Most people don’t really cares that you stutter and they most likely forget about it the next moment. You tend to overthink things and imagine all the bad possibilities. You need to stop giving a fuck about what other people think and act more instead of thinking about it. Most of the times I haven’t stuttered at all has been in the places I’ve felt the most comfortable (like around my friends) and when I didn’t think at all about it. For instance, one time I was in class and I raised my hand to answer a question without even giving a thought about my stutter. And I didn’t stutter at all and spoke loudly and confident. You just need to be confident in you and stop holding yourself back. And if you stutter a few times, that’s ok. The only one stopping you is you really. Keep your head up and have a positive mindset. If you put yourself in uncomfortable situations, you will find good things happening. I can’t tell you how much life has been better after I started becoming more confident. Also one more tip, stop comparing yourself to another person. Only focus on you and ensure you are doing better than how you were a year ago. Time flies by, don’t not do something you’re going to regret not doing. Hopefully you will find peace with your stutter one day ✌️
