Please do not give up. I've had my stutter since age 5. These are my accomplishments: 1. Was talked out of suicide 2. High school graduate 3. Joined US Air Force - Honorable Discharge 4. Attended college- obtained my AA, BS and MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology 5. Got married and have 1 son 6. I work as a National Trainer where I teach medical staff (25 to 500 at a time) 7. I'm a Podcaster 8. I'm a content creator for YouTube 9. I am an aspiring voice over artist I suffered for decades, I was isolated from everyone, did not know how to make friends and lived in the darkness for decades. At age 40, I stopped fighting my stutter and embraced it. Once I accepted it, 35 years of guilt, shame and embarrassment gone........ There's a freedom in letting go. Once I stopped caring what people thought of my stutter, a whole new world opened up. My stutter has taught me a great many things but the one most important thing is that it shows me who people truly are. If I'm speaking with you having a conversation and you look at your watch or away from me when I have a block, then I disclose my stutter and I choose to educate that person. If they continue to look away or at their watch then they are NOT worthy of my time. Do not put so much pressure on yourself. You are FRICKIN AWESOME and do not forget that! Your Voice matters.
