I’ve landed myself in a position as a barber, a job I’d never thought I’d be able to do since having to speak to each client. A funny thing started to happen. I’d engulf myself so much into perfecting my haircuts, stuttering wasn’t a part of it. I started to feel stronger and confident in my abilities in cutting hair that it sort of intercrossed with my speech. Another thing was that I’d repeatedly say near enough the same thing to each client such, hi how are you? What can we do for you today or hi what’s the plan. It was easy phrases that I got the hang of saying without stuttering. Funny story ~ one day in the shop I was speaking to a client mid-haircut and when I stutter I more so pull a face as I try to get the word out, I kind of freeze my action in motion. So it happend and after it did my client did not speak much more for the duration of the hair cut. I guess he thought the more I would speak the lesser quality of a haircut he would get since me freezing and all 🤷♂️ lol
