I managed to date five women before I met my wife. We’ve now been married more than 20 years. Granted, my stutter was not so bad one-on-one (presentations IMPOSSIBLE), so that helped, but I think my personality was more important than anything. Anyway, the reason I’m replying is because I’ve often thought that stuttering can make people into better listeners and more compassionate than the average person. Have any of you single stutterers ever thought of trying to hook up with fellow stutterers? When I was young, we didn’t have any means to really find each other, but now with the Internet, it seems like it would be a viable option. I can even imagine situations where two stutterers could possibly end up in comfortable stutter-free relationships, given the level of mutual understanding. Just an idea...
