Speech Therapy So, I'm usually pretty positive about my mild stutter, but today was a tough day. I'm doing speech terapy (paid by my health care plan) but the therapist is too young and doesn't have any idea about what is she doing. I feel sorry for her (and for me). Today she even said that I should change words or phrases that I know I can't say without stuttering. I mean, speech therapy isn't about accepting your stutter and find techniques that help you to communicate without having to change everything you planned to say? Anyway, I can't change the therapist, so I would like to know about you can: did speech therapy help you in any way? And how? Edit: I do not pretend to replace words that I have problems with. I accept my stutter and I know that there isn't a cure for it, but I do believe in methods that can help with my speech.
