I started reading the book by John Harrison and another by Ruth Mead on stuttering. The idea that was really poignant in their books was the important of our thoughts and beliefs. I think this is definitely the way forward. We don’t stammer when we are alone after all Ruth talked about the importance of working on this belief system to eradicate your stammer. Our thoughts are very powerful and over times they mould our beliefs. I agreed with a point she made about how as kids we may become conscious of our speech/stammer and we are thought to plan our words I.e to use our conscious mind. But this goes against the way we speak when we are alone or when a people who does not have a stammer speaks. I really find this interesting...
