I think about that all of the time because my stutter constantly affects my choices, whether or not I talk to someone, where I go to get food, choosing to go out in general, really most social interactions and my choice to engage (or not engage) are affected by the stutter. Last year I wrote a paper and my professor apparently thought it was really good so he encouraged me to submit it to a panel . The panel accepted my submission and wanted me to present. But the thought of having to speak on stage in front of a large crowd terrified me because of my stutter so I dropped out.
