I accept my stutter, but if there's such a medication with acceptable side effect, I'm taking it as soon as it's on the market. I think scientific research for search of cure for stutter has a place as long as scientists are incentivized to publish negative results and side effects too. So funding should be provided to these researchers even if all they end up doing is publish "X does not work" this year, and "Y does not work" next year and so on and so on.
