I went to HCRI, it is closed now but the dedicated the entire institute to stutters. While they did give me techniques to use when I stutter, I find it hard to implement them. this was my 2nd speech therapy, and from my experience I feel like no matter what they just will not understand. stuttering is different for every one of us, and it occurs because of different reasons for different people. so with that being said, I don't think there is an "expert" because no one even knows why stuttering exactly occurs. I am 19 and I was born with it . When I was younger , I went to the doctor and according to him I had no stutter but lo behold I did the whole time. The biggest thing I have learned that can help me from time is BREATHING. Focusing on your breath, controlling it. Because as we experience when we struggle to say a word, we began to struggle to breath and began to lose oxygen.
