I worked as a cashier for months until the shops closed. Well its best you inform your boss about it and maybe just tell him how best to deal with it and what it really is. Something in the brain that we were born with like our hair color. For me i did all of this and my boss was so cool with it. And nobody ever said something bad about it while working. In fact in those months 3 people approached me and asked about it and told me how brave i was for still doing this job and that really helps. I promise you if your boss is cool with it what they almost all are then it wont be a problem. I wish you the best tho because its scary at first and not easy but over time it will get better about how you feel about it.
