I was scared to death. We had stuttering heavily on both sides of genetics. I stutter 78f, my father stuttered until the age of 20, my husband’s mother stuttered very mildly, she was 99+% fluent her entire life. We have 2 totally fluent adult children and 5 adult male grandchildren. With the exception of one adult grandson who is mildly on the spectrum and has ADHD, all are fully fluent. The adult grandson who stutters, very mildly, does standup comedy with fluency. Just because you might stutter there’s no surety your offspring will stutter. My children have careers that demand oral communication. We’re on the brink of finally winning this battle. Have confidence, there is hope.
