The biggest thing that holds us back from expressing naturally (my opinion) The fear of judgement is the biggest thing that holds us back from expressing ourselves naturally. This is why I don't agree with speech techniques. We can already speak fine when we are by ourselves (unless we are really in our heads). So clearly we already know how to express ourselves. We just need to express ourselves as if we are in a room by alone. - no anticipation before speaking - no doubt - no fear - no anxiety - no performance anxiety Etc. Now obviously you can't live life without some level of anxiety, doubt in certain moments but how we relate to it will determine how much it affects us. Full circle: If we learn to care less about what others think of us, we will address the unnecessary fears, anxieties, doubts that cause us interference from expressing ourselves naturally (as if we are in a room alone). Addressing this fear of judgement is the most difficult task in the journey but also the most essential (in my opinion). ---- This was just a quick message to say that you don't need any special techniques or tricks to speak. You can already naturally do it. I'm speaking from experience as this is something that has allowed me to speak freely after years and years of living in fear and anxiety about stuttering. What are your thoughts? If you need any ideas to overcome fear of being judged.. I'd love to share.
