I met my now wife on a dating app. I didn’t mention it before we met, she realized very early on our first date that I stutter, we never talked about or made it something. After months or whatnot we talked about it and it was nothing for her. And from that point on every time I get stuck she involuntarily reaches out and just touches my arm. That touch immediately centers me. I stop, take a breath and continue where I left off. She has been such a calming force in my life that my stutter has lessened so much over the years that there are some times where I may go days without stuttering now.
