Good job for getting in a good headspace. Controlling only what you can is an important practice. Relaxing my nervous system is what helped for me. I was in constant flight or freeze from stuttering. Mindfulness, meditation and somatic practices all contributed best. I can expand on this if you want more information. First step for me was looking into nervous system regulation and basically studying it. Then I tried most of the techniques I found. Hope this helps!
