Well of course we have more responsibilities. But it wasn't just that which changed. It was my attitude which also changed (becoming a perfectionist). Here's another example that has nothing to do with speech: I play guitar and record music. Been doing that ever since I was a kid. Before 17, I experienced no anxiety at all when I was recording music. It felt the same as just playing for fun. Was pretty straightforward.....I just hit the record button, and simply played. And recording was a fun experience. But now when I record music, I get performance anxiety. The fear of screwing up and just thinking '' Man if I get even one note wrong, I have to do this thing all over again! ''. I didn't have that before. And I think that was because of my perception. I perceived music more as pleasure than as a performance task. I'm not saying that these traits cause these problems. A lot of people have these traits. But people who are more prone to anxiety will react to these traits in a different way.
