How to deal with social exclusion/ostracisim in university?

How to deal with social exclusion/ostracisim in university? Other students don't take me seriously and sometimes laugh at me, in general they excluse me from their social sphere. I'm trying to be really friendly and warm but it don't work. How to deal with this?
