I double it. At the university I have never participated in discussions and public speaking at seminars, having low grades and self-esteem, but good at writing and memorization. Whatever, I graduated and got bachelor degree in Translation Studies, and at my first job I was obliged to communicate with people a lot, combining live interpretation, written translations and administrative duties. There came an understanding: people need me and they are adult and supportive, wow! Later I've changed employer and now my duties are emergency PA announcements as well, apart from crowded meetings and daily conference calls. Yep, sometimes there are impediments, but they are rare and I consider those as a feature.
