Wanted to share a job interview tip

Wanted to share a job interview tip I've always struggled in job interviews (it's needless to say why). I had one today and did some quick thinking on the fly to kind of address it to the interviewer and help him understand my perspective. This could be a potential answer to the "biggest weakness" question, or just something you bring up when you see it fit. I told him that I know how my speech comes across over the phone. I then mentioned that I have a speech disfluency and followed up that because of it, I've always had to be a "show"er and not a "teller". I continued on to say that I'm acutely aware that in this job climate, it's often just as important to "tell" as it is to "show". Told him that, in my experience, a lot of times one needs to be able to "tell" FIRST in order to convince someone to even let you "show". I told him I didn't want to be discredited based on my ability to tell before even having the opportunity to show, and asked that he take that into consideration. He received it really well and expressed gratitude that I was so forthcoming about the subject. Bottom line is the "showing and telling" comparison seems to translate well in these types of interview situations. Haven't heard back yet as it just happened this morning, but I definitely plan to incorporate this explanation in future interviews. Hope this helps!
