Hey man, don't give up. I've stuttered my whole life, and of course I chose a profession (lawyer) where I have to speak for a living. I have anxiety about speaking all the time, but its how you react to it that is important. For example, I always stutter when I say my full name. Always. And it really sucks when I need to introduce myself to somebody. But when I stutter, I laugh and say something like, "I'm sorry, I've stuttered my whole life, and of course my name is one of the words I have a hard time saying. Just my luck." And the other person laughs, and that is the end of it. If I stutter, they understand, and it is no big deal. It is only a big deal if you make it a big deal. So I know its easier said than done, but you can get over this. Go talk to that girl next time you see her. Don't let your stutter define you. And just remember that you aren't alone in this.
