This reminds me of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stutter/comments/9we1s1/communication_aid_that_never_gets_mentioned/ It would be better to learn sign language and befriend the deaf community than to give up on ever communicating effectively. There are so many methods of communication. A mute, happy with his station in life and ability to communicate (conjecture), should be encouraging to find a method of communication that works for you, not make you wish you had a different disability instead.
