If someone is making effort to accommodate your stutter, I'd say they're trying to accommodate it and they have good intentions. I understand that it might seem like they're pitying you, and it can hurt your morale and self-confidence. Over time, I've learnt not to worry about what other people think about me, or my stutter. Trying to influence what other people think is exhausting and unsustainable. I try to do the best I can, and try to improve myself from where I was yesterday. But I've stopped really caring about other people's impression of me or my stutter... Hope this helps
