Stuttering with a mask Hey guys, I am a college student currently on campus. I have stuttered my whole life, but have found talking with a mask to be substantially more difficult than without. While at the campus food court ordering food today, I found myself struggling to tell the lady what I wanted. After an awkward 15 seconds of attempting to get it out, she impatiently sighed and chose a random menu item. I felt very disrespected and tried to tell her that's not what I wanted, and she completely blew me off. When I finally got her attention, she had a very cruel demeanor and the students waiting behind me were also showing signs of impatience. I tried to tell her my order again but to no avail. Thoroughly fed up, I accepted what she chose and walked away feeling belittled and defeated. Do any of you guys have any difficulty speaking with a mask on, and what would you have done in my situation? Thanks! 😁 Note: I have nothing against mask usage in America. I support it and fully understand/agree with why it's necessary.
